Tesco beauty shop to start up
Retail branding company Beyond Communications has teamed with Tesco Home plus stories and L'Oreal to create a new health and beauty shop, it has emerged.
The start-up firm will create a beauty section which has the feeling of a department store within a grocery environment, it explained.
Luxury and premium cosmetics will be featured near the front of Tesco Home Plus stores, which the company hopes will attract women and make them feel comfortable.
Nigel Stern, managing director of Beyond Communications, commented: "We have created a customer experience not usually associated with the grocery sector.
"It's about making [the customer] feel inspired and looked after. Working with Tesco on this project has proved to be a very rewarding and dynamic experience."
The beauty shop which is set to start up will be 1000 square feet and have the same type of fixtures as a department store - such as illumination, the use of premium materials, plasma screens and consultation areas.
In related news, supermarket giants Tesco and Asda have recently been involved in a price war after research revealed that the average UK family has less than £150 of disposable income after paying all their bills.
